Some of the other recaps out there are just soooo positive, it's kind of silly to me to say something is always good when it's not!

I hope that your husband is able to get out of his fog soon, and I'm glad that you're able to find comfort in Supernatural in the meantime. Sometimes it's nice to escape from real life for awhile!Jenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17542685770827922270noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8004885658234626174.post-59793058057719119682018-11-11T10:40:51.841-08:002018-11-11T10:40:51.841-08:00I hope you'll go on doing recaps! You have a r...I hope you'll go on doing recaps! You have a realistic, cynical view of the characters and show, without trashing them. You pick up details and ask questions that I wouldn't have thought of, and it gives me a richer understanding of the show.

Right now, I think that watching it is what it must be like living with Dean: I love him dearly, deeply, but that constant guilt and depression must really be wearing on the people around him! I won't abandon him, but my god, Dean, give it a rest.

My husband is clinically depressive, and he used to drink a lot, which was the only time he seemed to enjoy life. Since he's been taking a certain combination of meds, he doesn't drink at all, and he's not deeply depressed, just...quiet and sort of monotone(?). I love him and I'm lucky to have him, but I wish sometimes we could get out of the trough of even moderate depression. So it's kinda like that. Of course, in our home, we divide up the mental problems: he does depression, I do guilt. So I get it, Dean, I do. But I think sometimes that a really good spin-off for Supernatural would be about a therapist who travels around, ministering to hunters!

Don't think that people don't read or care about your recaps/reviews. Most people, like me, are lazy about responding. I've been reading your stuff, including recipes, for ages, but never responded before. And sometimes it's just that you've been so insightful that I go away with my head full of thinky thoughts, which take a while to process. So thank you for all of your comments, and please don't give up on the show!

Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
