I've been on a cupcake decorating kick lately, that my husband actually told me that he misses cookies. :DAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8004885658234626174.post-49413999924554741012010-09-05T08:12:59.879-07:002010-09-05T08:12:59.879-07:00I would always recommend to just soften the butter...I would always recommend to just soften the butter before mixing it in, rather than melt. Shortening usually does not need to be melted because it is soft on its own. Since it's refrigerated before baking, though, it probably doesn't matter as much. If you forgo the refrigeration step, though, definitely do not fully melt the butter, or the cookies will spread out really thin.Jenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17542685770827922270noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8004885658234626174.post-24523721740812468722010-09-05T00:10:58.219-07:002010-09-05T00:10:58.219-07:00Is there a difference in the melt-butter-and-short...Is there a difference in the melt-butter-and-shortening method and what you did (ie, cream-butter-and-shortening) in the final result?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8004885658234626174.post-19167889060342497732010-05-20T10:43:56.840-07:002010-05-20T10:43:56.840-07:00Yeah those were my favorite cookies ever.
